Computer Lab

Location: South 572 Ross.

The Graduate Program in Linguistics and Applied Linguistics offers students access to a computer lab that provides students with:

  • Internet acess
  • E-mail access
  • Software relevant to students’ areas of study

Departmental Lounge

Location: Fifth floor, South Ross.

Graduate students have access to the departmental lounge. In addition to being a resource that enhances students’ graduate experience, this is a facility that allows graduate linguistics students and faculty to:

  • Enjoy their lunch and chat with their colleagues
  • Spend time in a spacious and comfortable atmosphere

Centre for Research on Language Contact (CRLC)

Among York's research centres, the Centre for Research on Language Contact (CRLC) is especially relevant to members of the Linguistics and Applied Lingusitics Graduate Program because of its focus on the multi-faceted aspects of language contact.

Libraries/Archives

The Leslie Frost Library on Glendon campus houses an extensive bilingual collection.The Clara Thomas Archives and Special Collections contains a rich research collection for curricular and ongoing scholarly research.

Graduate Student Conference and Board Rooms

Located directly above the Graduate Students’ Association office on the fourth floor of the Student Centre are a large open conference room and two boardrooms. The boardrooms can be booked for smaller meetings or study groups. The rooms’ availability can be checked via the calendar at www.yugsa.ca.
